Doctor medicinae

Even before attending medical school, I was fascinated by the combination of physical activity, locomotion and its complex demands to the human organism. At this point I was certain to work with physically active people and patients lateron.

In addition to work at the famous Schulthess Clinic and its Swiss Olympic Medical Center in Zurich, Switzerland, I did research on the body's physiological responses to prolonged submaximal endurance exercise at the institute of Professor Dr. F.W. Schardt at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany.

During my specialization to orthopaedics/traumatology and sports medicine, I concentrate on structural as well as - especially - functional disturbances of the locomotor system and their therapies. For leasure sportsmen, elite athletes and national team members as well as dancers and musicians, I provide information and treatment regarding questions of orthopaedics, preventive and rehabilitative medicine, sports medicine, dance and performing arts medicine as well as chirotherapy with fascial and osteopathic techniques.

I currently hold memberships of the following national and international societies:

.: German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery (DGOOC)

.: German Society for Manual Medicine (DGMM)

.: Bavarian Society of Sport Physicians (BSAEV)

.: German Society of Sports Medicine and Prevention (DGSP)

.: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

.: Dance Medicine Germany (TAMED)

.: International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS)

Following the Hippocratic oath and sports ethics, I confess as physician as well as athlete, never having made use of or having prescripted non-legal substances or methods and to follow the recent regulations of the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and the World Anti-Doping Code. Due to this, I support an explicit increase in controls and further research against doping. Furthermore I am proud to be named an ambassador by bike-pure / play-pure to support doping free and ethical sports.
